As a private non-profit organization, theMAC reserves the right to deny membership or membership renewal to any applicant or member, at the discretion of the Board of Directors for such reasons, including, but not limited to; inappropriate advertising or social media presence, false representation, or lack of understanding of the mediation process, lack of substantive knowledge or skills, ethics code violations, conduct falling below standards of the mediation profession including those standards of related professions in which the member practices or purports to practice as advertised on theMAC website, inquiries, complaints or grievances about the member’s services from litigants, attorneys or members of the judiciary that may, or have, put the reputation of theMAC and its members at risk.

Qualifications
  • A full-time student of a high school or university; or A volunteer mediator, who gets no remuneration for mediation
  • Agreement to abide by theMAC’s Code of Conduct and Ethics Policy and Procedures

Qualifications
  • Proof of completion of a 40-hour mediation training with a qualified trainer (link to subpage Trainer)
  • Proof of 100 hours of mediation in at least 10 different cases as a lead/solo mediator
  • Commitment to and verification of a minimum of 10 hours of ADR-specific annual continuing education
  • Agreement to abide by theMAC’s Code of Conductand Ethics Policy and Procedure
