Michele is an attorney and mediator with 23 years of experience in family law and business law. Having seen the effects of litigation on her clients, Michele transformed her practice to provide her clients with powerful and effective ways to resolve their disputes. Michele mediates cases involving divorce, custody, support and post-decree matters. She also mediates business law, breach of contract and general civil cases.
In the non-legal arena, Michele is an Assistant Professor (tenure track) at Metropolitan State University of Denver. Michele teaches Business Law I and II to amazingly able, dedicated, traditional and non-traditional students.
Michele graduated from Williams College in 1988, and from the University of Colorado School of Law and Graduate School of Public Affairs in 1997. Michele worked in the nonprofit and public interest sector for 9 years, where she practiced primarily family law and juvenile law. In 2006, Michele opened her own law firm, providing full-service transactional and litigation representation to small and medium sized businesses, as well as representation in domestic cases. In early 2017, Michele officially launched her mediation practice where she is passionate about helping people resolve problems the way they want to.
Giving back to the community and contributing to the quality of the legal system is important to Michele. She volunteers as an attorney with Colorado Legal Services, as a mediator with Metro Volunteer Lawyers, and she received the New Volunteer of the Year Award in 2017 from Jefferson County Mediation Services. Michele is a Past Chair of the Colorado Bar Association’s Solo and Small Firm Section, and she currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Mediation Association of Colorado.
