I have been practicing law since 1979, primarily in Western Colorado. In 2014, I have relocated to the Denver metro area. In approximately 1995, after many years of litigation, I redirected my practice to family law as well as taking appointments as a guardian ad litem in dependency and neglect cases (representing the best interests of the children for whom I was appointed). I also started a mediation practice at that time. Since then I have mediated over 400 cases, more than half in the area of family law. I have completed teh 40-hour mediation training.
I believe that mediation is far and away the best mechanism for resolving disputes, especially in the area of family law. I believe that the parties to a divorce are in a much better position to come to a fair and equitable resolution than a judge or magistrate who may hear evidence for 4-8 hours.
I am an active mediator and believe that the merits of the case and the ramifications of litigation should always be considered in a fair settlement. After years of witnessing parties spend large sums of money and experience stress and anxiety in lengthy lawsuits, I take great pleasure in assisting parties to reach an amicable resolution of their differences without the cost, aggravation and expense of lengthy litigation.
