Loretta Koehler has been a mediator for more than 27 years. She earned a law degree along with a certificate in Alternative Dispute Resolution from Mitchell-Hamline Law School (typically in the top 4 law schools for ADR). She was certified as a mediator by the Minnesota Supreme court in 1997. Loretta represented clients in Equal Employment Opportunity mediation cases at the Minnesota Department of Human Rights. She represented children at the Anoka County Public Defender’s Office and in delinquency and truancy cases. Loretta worked for several years at the Indian Child Welfare Law Center in Minneapolis representing parents and relatives in ICWA cases.
As a Family Court Facilitator in the Colorado Courts, Loretta facilitated and mediated thousands of domestic relations and child welfare cases. She has also mediated and facilitated domestic relations, neighbor disputes, small claims and county civil court cases with Jefferson County Mediation Services (Oval Options) since 1999. She has facilitated large groups with employment and organizational issues.
Currently she is mediating civil and domestic cases through the Office of Dispute Resolution and her company, Avant Mediation, LLC provides services across Colorado and beyond with the option for weekends and evenings via Zoom (online) flexibility.
