I have practiced family law my entire 25+year career as a litigator and a mediator. I am actively licensed in Minnesota and Colorado. After spending time in courts in 3 states (including California), nothing surprises me anymore. I enjoy being an advocate for my clients and guiding them successfully through the legal process be it a divorce, child custody, spousal maintenance or property matters.
I received my Bachelors degree from UCLA, and my law degree from Hamline University School of Law (now Mitchell-Hamline School of Law). I attended advanced training in litigation skills through the ABA Family Law Trial Advocacy Institute held at the Sturm College of Law in Denver.
On the dispute resolution side of my work, I have 40-hours of training in family law mediation through the nationally ranked Hamline University Mediation Center. I also have formal training in Early Neutral Evaluations through the Minnesota Judicial Branch.
I enjoy volunteering. Some of my volunteer activities are
Colorado Lawyers for Colorado Veterans -legal advice clinic
Metro Volunteer Lawyers at their courthouse family law legal clinics each month.
Boardmember of ChannelMom- a non-profit assisting moms in prison to stay connected with their children.
Court appointed special advocate ( CASA) serving kids in the foster care system in Douglas and Arapahoe counties.
I participate regularly in the family law and solo/small law firm section events of the bar association. I am also a member of W.O.L.F.(Women Owned Law Firms), a group of fantastic women lawyers from the Denver metro area.
I am married to an Air Force Veteran and we love supporting our military community through our church. We are former foster parents and I have a heart for children who wait for a permanent family. You can find me many weekends hiking the Rocky Mountains or at an ice rink watching our teenage son playing hockey.
