“The Changing Landscape of Landlord/Tenant Disputes” Online Seminar

May 24 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm MDT

Court Mediation Services (CMS) is pleased to announce that it will be sponsoring an online educational seminar entitled “The Changing Landscape of Landlord/Tenant Disputes.”

This seminar has been approved by the Colorado Supreme Court for 2 General CLE credits and will be held on May 24th – commencing promptly at 1 PM via ZOOM.

Presented by Attorney Rachel Winders from the law firm of Tschetter Sulzer, the seminar will cover topics including:

  • The various types of Lease Agreements and the most recent Statutes applying to each of those
  • Warranty of Habitability claims
  • Dealing with Security Deposits
  • The potential for Mediated Settlements
  • The characteristics of effective Stipulations.

Recent legislation in Colorado has changed the landscape of this area of conflict.  While mediators are explicitly prevented from offering any form of legal advice to disputing Parties, having a solid grasp of the ground rules and how they have changed can be a definite benefit when helping Parties craft sound settlements that are likely to be acceptable to the Courts.

Interested participants can register for this session by registering below or by going to the Court Mediation Services website, clicking on the “MEDIATORS” button at the top right-hand corner of the landing page, and going to the TRAINING drop-down where the LANDLORD TENANT DISPUTES Seminar will appear.  Registrants will be sent the ZOOM meeting link 48 hours before the May 24th event.

Training Seminars are free for all active CMS Mediators! CMS requests a $30.00 donation for all inactive or non-CMS Mediators.
