Our online basic 40-hour mediation training class is perfect for you to obtain your mediation certificate and continuing education credits. Our Introduction to Mediation: The Basics course meets the requirements for a 40-hour mediation training based on nationally accepted standards\, and more. This course provides the working knowledge of the processes\, techniques\, and tools to become a highly skilled mediator. Throughout the course\, you will explore the skills necessary for achieving effective dispute resolution in your professional and personal life. Our curriculum includes instruction on effective communication skills\, communication theories\, and ethical guidelines\, along with practical advice for building your mediation practice.  We will provide you with a certificate of completion at the conclusion of the course. We have designed this four-week course for working at your own pace\, in on your own time frame most convenient for you.  This means there is freedom for you in scheduling the 40 hours this course is going to take you. There are a few assignments you will need to schedule with one of the facilitators.  These assignments include the intake & opening statement (which are done at the same time) and the mediation role-plays (2).  We will provide you with multiple dates you can choose from and information on how you can schedule these few assignments.  If scheduling is still a problem\, please let us know and we will work with you. The course is broken into 5 units: Introduction and Overview; Mediation Process - Part 1; Communication Skills; Mediation Process - Part 2: Ethics and Business Practices.  You will have power point presentations and other materials to review. You will be asked to complete quizzes\, discussion questions\, and practical assignments for each unit. Like a traditional learning environment\, the interactive discussions provide additional information and insight. The three of us are available to you to provide feedback as you work your way through the course - we've even provided a discussion area on each unit for you to post your questions about the materials so participants can share answers with everyone else. This 40-hour basic mediation course has been approved and received a “recognized training program” status by The Mediation Association of Colorado. Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credits for this course have been approved by the Colorado Supreme Court - General Credits: 46\, Ethics Credits: 6.     If you have specific requirements for your professional continuing education credits\, we will be happy to work with you and your professional organization to have credits from this course applied to you.
