Recommended Education/Training and Experience (REE) for Professional Mediators New Guidelines.
In late 2006 the membership of CCMO commented on, and on February 7 th, 2007 the CCMO Board of Directors voted to endorse and adopt, the Recommended Education/Training and Experience (REE) for Professional Mediators. CCMO will be implementing the REE on January 1 st, 2008 to impact the 2009 membership year renewal and new membership applications for CCMO Professional Mediators.
What does this mean to you? Please review the Recommended Education/Training and Experience (REE)
If you are a current CCMO Professional Mediator, you still are. You will have to report 10 hours of continuing education acquired in 2008 for your 2009 renewal as outlined in the REE. Download our Continuing Mediation Education application with instructions.
If you have been working to meet the qualifications for Professional Mediator under CCMO’s current standards and intend to apply for Professional Mediator status in 2008; you can do so under the current CCMO qualifications and not the REE. You will be required to report 10 hours of continuing education credits acquired in 2008 for your 2009 renewal as outlined in the REE.
All applicants for Professional Mediator status at the renewal and application period for the 2009 membership year will have to meet all the requirements outlined in the REE.
CCMO plans to offer enough CCMO sponsored or co-sponsored events to fulfill the 10 hours needed in addition to the many other available methods of acquiring the necessary continuing education as outlined in the REE.
I have also included a Report Form Continuing Eduacation Report Form to use for reporting your continuing education that will be turned in with your 2009 membership renewal. The form will also be emailed, as well as being available for download on our website.
Please call (303) 322-9275 / 800-864-4317 for your membership application, or if you have any questions.
The Professional Mediator Application is also available for prospetive members.
